History

History: Serving New England since 1946

Our path to becoming the region’s largest and most well-respected liquid in waste management as The Wind River Group of Companies had humble beginnings, reaching all the way back to 1946.  That’s when founder Denny Currier began serving local customers in Middleton, Massachusetts from his “honey wagon.”

Things really took off in 1999, as we began consolidating some of the most well respected companies in the industry. Important steps along the way include:

• 1999: David Dodson, John O’Connell and Mary Chowning launch Wind River Environmental in Hudson MA
• 2000: Wind River Environmental broadens its territory into Rhode Island
• 2001:  Wind River Environmental expands into New York and Connecticut
• 2002-2008: Wind River Environmental enters the restaurant market, continuing its growth across New England by providing drain, inside grease and commercial plumbing
• 2009: Wind River Environmental adds EarthCare to its group of companies. In the same year, it merges with Residual Management Services (RMS).
• 2010-2013: Wind River Environmental acquires several additional companies
• 2014: Wind River Environmental adds Kaiser Battistone, broadening the group to include a third brand.
• 2015: Wind River Environmental and Kline’s Services merge, bringing a fourth brand to the Wind River Environmental group of companies
